I was planning on a trip for us earlier today to go to Pakistan to see the Deadliest Road in the World. I got news there had been an earthquake (4.2) today in the region of tonight's photostudy. I saw there was also one 3 days ago (4.5) also in Pakistan. I checked out the website for recent earthquakes on maps (below). There have been 217 earthquakes in the last 7 days. Earthquakes happen almost daily and they are not usually large enough for loss of life.
I noticed that a warning video had been uploaded to You Tube, with the Alert:

Southern Polar Coronal Hole has developed and covers a large area on the solar corona. Its rapid formation could indicate a very strong seismic event at (33-43°S Latitude) in 2-4 days as this feature has characteristics that may indicate an ocean based epicenter or a deep earthquake(80km). Possible locations for this 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake are:
Kermadec Islands, North Island, New Zealand, Los Lagos, Araucania or Bio-Bio, Chile
*Possible Volcanic Eruption Piton De La Fournaise or the Cerro Hudson
Southern Polar Coronal Hole at higher latitude on the solar corona also may produce a (5.5-5.8 Magnitude) Earthquake at (52-57°S Latitude) here on earth. Several holes could indicate two or three strong ocean based earthquakes. Time Frame is April 2-4. Possible locations for this event are:
South Sandwich Islands Region, Macquarie Islands Region or South Of Africa

Climate
Like most of the southern slopes of Pakistan, Dir has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa).
Owing to the town’s exposed location, rainfall from frontal cyclones from the west is heavier than
in any other part of Pakistan, and their passage, as well as very penetrative monsoonal periods,
are usually accompanies by heavy thunderstorms.

Wow, was that amazing?? As I was viewing the video, I realized that if anything happens to this road the supply route will be cut off. It is very beautiful country, but seems isolated to me. I researched the earthquakes in the last 10 years in the area. There have been several bad ones. The article below was at the time of the 2005 quake, which killed many people.

The earthquake destroyed miles of mountain roads, roads cut into steep slopes, precarious roads, difficult to create and difficult to repair. The loss of roads isolated people whose houses had crumbled about them, many of whom we could expect to be seriously injured. The land on which they lived was too steep for helicopters to land. 
Relief goods which were air-dropped were sometimes reported to have tumbled down slopes until lost or destroyed. The work of Army engineers to clear and repair or replace roads was constantly being thwarted by daily aftershocks which brought new landslides and again "washed out" roads. Most of the strongest aftershocks came between midnight and 2.30am. Thus, most landslides occurred at night causing engineers to clear the same roads day after day. Army mule teams were being utilized to advantage, but they were few in number, and, one fears, tragically too slow for some medical emergencies. Two weeks after the main tremors, aftershocks were lessening in number and intensity and it was hoped would soon allow road repair operations to proceed. Unhappily, winter is arriving, and snow and ice will soon make road work impossible or seriously hamper it.

5.4-magnitude earthquake hits NW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, March 31 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale hit northwest Pakistan on Saturday morning, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).The earthquake took place at 09:16:55 a.m. local time. The epicenter is in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region with a focal depth of 212 kilometers.Tremors were felt in Pakistan's northwest Chitral, Malakand and other adjoining areas, said PMD.No reports about the loss of lives or damages to properties have been received yet.
