Hi Everybody:
YES, I do have some friends in very High Places because many of You (my new friends) live on Mountains!!!
Hello Up There. Some of You live around Volcano Mountains. The Good News is there have been no major eruptions, but alerts have been issued in some areas. I found this great Site to share with You: http://thewatchers.adorraeli.com/.
(More Site Information Below)
For everyone else not on Volcano mountains, the site has information on all aspects of Mother Nature's Moods.
We have witnessed extreme Natural Events this summer in the normal shifting and shaking plates of our ever-changing Earth. Due to awareness, planning, preparations, advance warnings and great news sites; the human death toll is down from previous events of past years. We see people helping people and governments preparing to help people as the need arises.(With the exception of Iran, who was not prepared to help their people and refused aid to those people). People in China are seeing difficult times right now.
Everything may be just fine where you are located. I had a great day in Texas with the arrival of the first 'cool' front. It is going down to 60 degreesF tonight!
It is difficult for me to think on a global level.
The time has come to think of the whole Earth and all the Humans living here for what happens in one place affects us all. I ask You to join me in wishing positive thoughts for everyone as we turn this corner to Autumn.
Volcano
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A volcano is an opening, or rupture, in a planet's surface or crust, which allows hot magma, volcanic ash
and gases to escape from below the surface.
Volcanoes are generally found where tectonic plates are diverging orconverging. A mid-oceanic ridge, for
example the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, has examples of volcanoes caused by divergent tectonic plates pulling
apart; thePacific Ring of Fire has examples of volcanoes caused by convergent tectonic plates coming
together. By contrast, volcanoes are usually not created where two tectonic plates slide past one another.
Volcanoes can also form where there is stretching and thinning of the Earth's crust in the interiors of plates,
e.g., in the East African Rift, the Wells Gray-Clearwater volcanic field and theRio Grande Rift in North
America. This type of volcanism falls under the umbrella of "Plate hypothesis" volcanism.[1] Volcanism
away from plate boundaries has also been explained as mantle plumes. These so-called "hotspots",
for example Hawaii, are postulated to arise from upwelling diapirswith magma from the
core–mantle boundary, 3,000 km deep in the Earth.

Volcanic tremors triggered by massive Costa Rican M 7.6 earthquake on September 5, 2012 placed Nicaraguan Apoyeque volcano on green alert. This volcano is located northwest of the Nicaraguan capital Managua and is now being continually monitored for volcanic tremors. Most quakes are located around the Laguna Xiloá, one of the volcano’s active vents. Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (INETER) registered 21 low-intensity volcano-related tremors between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning (September 6 – 7, 2012), prompting the government...

At least four of the seven active volcanoes in Costa Rica, Arenal (Alajuela), Rincon de la Vieja (Guanacaste), Turrialba (Cartago) and Poás (Alajuela), are in the crosshairs of scientists after 7.6 magnitude earthquake that struck the country on September 6, 2012. Even a small shift under one of these giants could cause an eruption scientists said. According to specialists agree Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Costa Rica (OVSICORI-A) and the National Seismological Network (RSN: ICE-UCR), due to the...

Monitoring the subtle change in Earth’s gravity and its effects may reveale some details about movements of magma deep inside volcano. After monitoring the gravity at one of the world’s most active volcanoes – Kīlauea volcano on Hawaii, scientists discovered a regular cycle of fluctuations that suggest magma is churning about a kilometer (0.6 miles) below the surface. Underground processes are difficult to monitor. However, they can give us valuable information about how persistent volcanoes are and...

The plume from Mount Hodson can be seen rising just to the northwest of center and curving in an arc to the northeast on latest MODIS satellite image. On August 28, 2012, a large volcanic plume rose from the Mount Hodson volcano on remote Visokoi Island, interacting with clouds overhead to create a broad rippling band easily visible from space. Gas and aerosols emitted at a low-level provided a nucleus for the formation of water droplets. Visokoi...

Scientists warned that Auckland is vulnerable to volcanic eruptions. During the last 250,000 years, Auckland’s volcanoes have totally changed the Auckland landscape. The scientists used a variety of devices and models to explore in a new way the lava flows of AVF and its 50 monogenetic volcanoes. Polygenetic volcanoes erupt from the same craters regularly. Scientists point that detailed evaluation of lava flow hazards and delimitation of potentially safe places from lava flow inundation have not yet...

The thermal detectors on the MODIS instrument have identified areas on tops of Kamchatkan Shiveluch and Kizimen volcanoes that are warmer than background. Actively erupting volcanoes typically show such warm areas. Between the two more active volcanoes lie Klyuchevskaya, just south of Shiveluch and Bezymianny. According to the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team (KVERT), on August 22 Shiveluch was experiencing moderate seismic activity and incandescence of the lava dome. It was also releasing moderate amounts of gas...

We reported last week that huge pumice raft was discovered in South Pacific, north of New Zealand, and today we might have the answer of what caused it. Small volcanic rocks or pumice covered the area of 250 nautical miles (463km) in length and 30 nautical miles (55km) wide. Pumice is typically created when super-heated, highly pressurized rock is violently ejected from a volcano. Alternatively it can be formed when lava and water are mixed. Most pumice...

Scientists search for the Volcanic explosive source of a disaster that wiped out almost a third of Londoners in 1258. When archaeologists discovered thousands of medieval skeletons in a mass burial pit in east London in the 1990s, they assumed they were 14th-century victims of the Black Death or the Great Famine of 1315-17. Now they have been astonished by a more explosive explanation – a cataclysmic volcano that had erupted a century earlier, thousands of...
