A trick or treat bag for You!! I went looking for Ghouls and Goblins on the Google You Tube Site. Surprise; I found plenty of evidence that ghouls and goblins are running amok among us!
It appears there is a great amount of money to be made during and after a disaster from Insurance and the Government (for example).

Anyway, A great video lineup featuring You Tube Creators. Current News Events reveal suspected ghouls and goblins. As always, You decide who is a ghoul or not, what is real or not. It could just be entertainment!

Speaking of Current News Events: A big shoutout and Thank You to everyone spreading the word of the Hurricane. No doubt many lives have been saved by great News Coverage. You know, the Louisiana Sinkhole Crisis is far worse than this Monster Storm. I remain curious why there is no 'great' news coverage or warning for the people of the Gulf Coast? One of the yahoos actually stated the bubbling methane gas was 'good'. WRONG! There is not one 'good' thing about the invisible, odorless, highly toxic (lethal) Methane Gas. No Government or Engineer can fix the situation. The sunk land is not going to come back up. The rest of the land is going to continue to sink. The gas and oil will continue to come up. Relocation and evacuation from the area should be an urgent consideration.

This is a very Spooky Halloween Season. I hope the Politicians will step up to the plate and address this Crisis/Scandal/Disaster in the Gulf Coast States and Warn the People.

My heart and prayers out to Everybody, but especially those living through the Hurricane right now. I hope You heeded the warning and found safety. Please feel a big, warm blanket wrapping softly around you and allow a moment of comfort and peace to surround You.

A ghoul is a (folkloric) monster associated with graveyards and consuming human flesh, often classified as undead. In fiction, these creatures dwells in cemeteries and other uninhabited places. The oldest surviving literature that mention ghouls is likely One Thousand and One Nights.^[1] The term was first attested to in English in 1786, in William Beckford'sOrientalist novel Vathek,^[2] which describes the ghūl of Arabian folklore.

By extension, the word ghoul is also used in a derogatory sense to refer to a person who delights in the macabre, or whose profession is linked directly to death, such as agravedigger.

In Arabian folklore

In ancient Arabian folklore, the ghūl (Arabic: literally demon)^[6] dwells in burial grounds and other uninhabited places. The ghul is a fiendish type of jinn believed to be sired by Iblis.^[7]

A ghoul is a desert-dwelling shapeshifting demon that can assume the guise of an animal especially a hyena. It lures unwary people into the desert wastes or abandoned places to slay and devour them. The creature also preys on young children, drinks blood, steals coins, and eats the dead,^[6] taking the form of the person most recently eaten.

In the Arabic language,the female form is given as ghouleh^[8] and the plural is ghilan. In colloquial Arabic, the term is sometimes used to describe a greedy or gluttonous individual.

A goblin is a legendary evil or mischievous creature; a grotesquely evil or evil-likephantom.

They are attributed with various (sometimes conflicting) abilities, temperaments and appearances depending on the story and country of origin. In some cases, goblins have been classified as constantly annoying little creatures somewhat related to the brownie andgnome. They are usually depicted as small, sometimes only a few inches tall, sometimes the size of a dwarf. They also often are said to possess various magical abilities

Name

English goblin was borrowed from Old French gobelin, rendered as Medieval Latingobelinus, of uncertain origin. It may be related to German kobold or to Medieval Latincabalus, itself from Greek kobalos "rogue" or "knave". Alternatively, it may be a diminutive of the proper name Gobel.^[1] The suffix -ing meaning "the people or kin of"; therefore, the people or kin of Gobel.

Alternative spellings include gobblin, gobeline, gobling, and goblyn.

The name goblin is possibly a variant or corruption of the word Nibelung. As is common practice in Norman French translation, the first and last letters of a word are substituted. Therefore, the first and last letters of Nibelung or its variant Nybling are substituted to give us the modern English (via Norman French) goblin. Nibelung or Nybling becomes Gibelunn or Gyblinn (i.e. Gobelin or Goblin).

Another possible origin for the word goblin might be the Welsh coblynau or coblyn, a type of knocker or mine-sprite.
