The next video sets the Tone for tonight's Hippy Hour by giving us a glimpse backward in Time.
I do want to point out that in viewing these old videos, you may see drug use. I remind You this behavior was 40 years ago before drugs were even illegal (in the states). Yes, many people did Drugs. They were cheap, plentiful and good. Yes, many people became drug addicts. They are all dead now. Life expectancy is not long for the addicted. I do not want drugs to be the focus of this Hippy Hour Saturday Night Dance. There are millions of us who made it from the sixties to our sixties!!!!!!
We did not arrive here in 2012 by laying around doing drugs for 40 or 50 years. We are the most productive generation in History. Sadly, we are also the most destructive force to the Earth and the residents (all of them). Humans are just killing everyone and everything. Soon the Earth will look like Mars-Lifeless.


The reason for Hippy Hour is to reflect on the Positive Aspects of the 60's and 70's. Love of the Earth, Mother Nature, the Music and Each Other was PRIORITY.  The music carried the movement, not the drugs. The music and dance is what we are celebrating here on the Google Blog.  Just Dance!!!

The Troggs are an English rock band from the 1960s that had a number of hits in UKand the US. Their most famous songs include the Hot 100 chart topper "Wild Thing", "With a Girl Like You", and "Love Is All Around". "Wild Thing" is ranked #257 on theRolling Stone magazine's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was an influence on garage rock and punk rock.^[1][2]

Fronted by Reg Presley, The Troggs were from the town of Andover in southern England and were originally called The Troglodytes.

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd (pronounced /ˌlɛ-nərd ˈskɪn-nərd/ len-ərd-skin-ərd) is an Americanrock band best known for popularizing the Southern rock genre during the 1970s. Originally formed in 1964 as the "Noble Five" in Jacksonville, Florida, the band rose to worldwide recognition on the basis of its driving live performances and signature tune, "Free Bird." At the peak of their success, three members died in an airplane crash in 1977, putting an abrupt end to the band's most popular incarnation.

Surviving members re-formed in 1987 for a reunion tour with lead singer Ronnie Van Zant's younger brother Johnny as frontman. A version of the band continues to tour and record, with only Gary Rossington of its original members remaining as of 2012. Lynyrd Skynyrd was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 13, 2006
