EXPLOSION IN LOUISIANA-BOMB RECYCLING FACILITY (WHAT'S GOING ON PHOTO BLOG)

Big Bang
Hi Everybody:
You may have noticed that an explosion occurred in Louisiana on Monday Night, October 15, 2012, around 11:30 PM. I did not hear of this event until last night around 12 when I published my post. As of this morning, its has not been reported under breaking news or top stories. However, there are plenty of reports in the Google Index (page 1 shared below). In the Google Search Box I typed: munitions plant explosions and this is what came up:

Explosion Rocks Army Ammunition Plant

An explosion at an ArkLaTex military plant has left it closed Tuesday morning.
It happened at the valentec plant in Webster Parish at about 5:30 Monday afternoon. Firefighters, deputies and military personnel say they dealt with the fire from that explosion at the valentec plant, into Tuesday morning. Four miles away was the closest news crews could get to the blast on Monday. The blast happened while the company was making military flares. No one was injured during the explosion. The company evacuated many of it's workers. Smoke from the explosion could be seen as far away as Shreveport. Witnesses say at first, the explosion looked like a dark yellow cloud.

Bunker explosion rattles Louisiana

MINDEN, La., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Damage reports poured in the day after an explosion at the site of an old army ammunition plant in northwest Louisiana, law enforcement officials said.
Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton said the bunker blast late Monday resulted in a flood of phone calls to his office and fears that the incident was the result of a meteor hitting the ground, KSLA-TV, Shreveport, La., said.
The force of the explosion was felt across a wide area that extended to Shreveport and beyond.
The National Weather Service issued a statement describing radar imagery showing a plume of smoke and debris near where the Camp Minden Louisiana Army Ammunition plant is located.
Sexton described the bunker that exploded as an igloo-shaped structure constructed out of concrete.
It belonged to a company called Explo Systems Inc.
Louisiana State Police, the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office and the military were investigating what caused the blast.

So you get the idea how to look up the link and see the information.

You will find disinformation along with real facts and you can decide for Yourself what You want to believe.

The following is my opinion after viewing the information:

a. it is confirmed there was an explosion at this munitions storage facility Monday night.

b. it is suspicious to me that many believe it was a meteorite from space. My mind says: what are the chances a meteorite would come in from outer space and land directly on a munitions facility in troubled Louisiana????????

c. What are the chances it was an explosion on site, a bomb from a plane or drone; or a missile launched from the gulf???? Given the current world situation, I find this possibility plausible.

Bunker Explosion Lights Up Louisiana Night

Eli MacKinnon, Life's Little Mysteries Staff Writer
Date: 16 October 2012 Time: 01:21 PM EThttp://www.livescience.com/24019-louisiana-bunker-explosion.html

A loud boom and a bright orange flash that shook up a pocket of northwest Louisiana last night (Oct. 15) was due to an underground explosion at the Camp Minden industrial park and National Guard training site, according to the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office.
Despite early reports that the boom may have been caused by a meteor impact, the real cause was an explosion in an underground bunker belonging to a company called Explo, Webster Parish authorities told Life's Little Mysteries.
No one was injured in the blast.

According to the company's website, Explo

Systems Inc. demilitarizes and recovers

explosives. The Associated Press says Explo

Systems Inc. does its bomb-recycling work on a

military contract.

In August 2006, the Associated Press reported the same company was responsible for a series of explosions that led to the evacuation of two schools and a prison near Camp Minden, which is the former site of the federally owned Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant and is currently overseen by Louisiana's National Guard.

Last night's explosion, which lit up the sky over Camp Minden just before 11:30 p.m. local time, prompted reports from Shreveport, La., 20 miles (32 kilometers) away, according to Shreveport's KSLA website. The Webster Parish Sheriff's Office told Life's Little Mysteries the explosion also was reported by residents of east Texas.
Early speculation from Webster Parish Sheriff Gary Sexton, who told KSLA there was a "possibility that a meteor did hit the ground," may have had some basis. The Orionid meteor shower, an annual shower that has been especially vigorous in recent years, started yesterday and is likely to peak this weekend. Falling meteors are known to cause sonic booms audible on the ground.

    Land Contamination Report Descriptions

Scorecard currently profiles risks to public health and the environment from only two potential sources of land contamination in the U.S.: toxic waste sites identified as federal Superfund sites, and manufacturing facilities reporting land and underground releases of chemicals to the Toxics Release Inventory.Data Source: Scorecard's profiles of Superfund sites are derived from multiple sources dating from 1993 to 2000. Primary sources include: NPL Fact Sheets maintained by EPA regions, andfour EPA databases: the Superfund National Assessment Program (SNAP), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Information System (CERCLIS) database in Envirofacts; the Potentially Responsible Party (PRP) database; and the Remedial Program Managers (RPM) database. For profiles of TRI manufacturing facilities, Scorecard utilizes data from the most recent U.S. EPA Toxics Release Inventory (TRI).

Note: Scorecard's profiles of Superfund sites include only proposed and final sites on the National Priorities List. Numerous other sources of land contamination, such as state superfund sites, brownfields, nonhazardous waste disposal facilities, and other land contamination sources are not currently profiled because they are not tracked in national datasets. Scorecard reports on TRI manufacturing plants cover only those required to report for the 1997 TRI, and only 650 listed TRI chemicals.

MapsScorecard maps the locations of Superfund sites and TRI manufacturing facilities with land and underground releases of toxic chemicals. Select a view of either land contamination source, and zoom in or out from the national-level to the site-level. The mapper shades counties from cleanest to dirtiest. Bar charts illustrate trends in chemical releases over time, or numbers of Superfund sites contaminating sources of drinking water.
RankingsScorecard offers several ranking options for characterizing land contamination at a particular site or for any community in the U.S. You can rank Superfund sites by EPA Hazard Ranking Scores to see whether contaminants are likely to migrate via ground water, surface water, air, or soil. Rank TRI manufacturing facilities to compare the amounts of chemicals released. See how your community compares to others by ranking states or counties by number of Superfund sites, or by the quantity of TRI chemical land releases or underground injections. Thermometers at the state and county level can tell you at a glance whether your community ranks at the clean or dirty end of the spectrum for sources of land contamination.
Environmental Justice AnalysisInequities in environmental burden can be examined by identifying particular geographic areas and demographic groups that may be disparately affected by pollution. More on environmental justice.

Data SummaryThe data summary provides a quick overview of land contamination sources in your community. Scorecard gives the total number of Superfund sites in any geographic area, and breaks down this total into the number of sites that have polluted drinking water supplies, as well as the number of sites in various EPA-designated stages of cleanup. Click on the numbers for quick access to lists of Superfund site names and details. Scorecard also indicates the numbers of facilities and the quantities of pounds released to land and underground in 1997. Click on the numbers to get the names of facilities responsible or specific chemicals released.
Most Common ContaminantsScorecard identifies the top contaminants involved in land contamination in your community, with links to authoritative information on the potential health effects of those chemicals. See which contaminant has been detected most often at Superfund sites, and click on the full list to see contaminants ranked in order of detection in specific media (ground water, surface water, air, soil, etc.). This can be a useful tool if you want to see a quick list, for example, of sites in your county where trichloroethylene was detected in the ground water, or where lead was detected in the soil. Scorecard also lists which chemicals were released in greatest quantity to land or underground in your area by TRI manufacturing facilities.
Take ActionIf you are concerned about the effects of Superfund site contamination and ongoing releases of toxic chemicals to land and underground in your community, Scorecard encourages you to take action. Send an email to U.S. EPA to express your concern, or join an online discussion to talk with others about pollution problems in your community. From state and county reports, send an email to Congress to voice your opposition to legislation that threatens to weaken the Superfund program.
LinksScorecard provides links to additional online resources on Superfund sites, and to reports profiling other pollution issues in your community.

Mystery explosion shatters windows, lights sky in Louisiana

Meteor or munitions? What happened in Webster Parish?
According to numerous reports, a loud boom was heard in a secluded area of the Louisiana parish, leading Sheriff Gary Sexton to tell a local television station that they “definitely had something happen” Monday night.
Area resident Shana Levick told KSLA 12 that she saw the sky light up a bright orange color, and observed “fire sparks” above the tree line. The boom reportedly shook trees and citizens out of bed and shattered windows during the night as well, leading to speculation that it was the sound of impact from a meteor.
This was no meteor, however. The National Weather Service branch office in Shrevesport, La., said the sound was a massive explosion at a munitions recycling factory.
“Monday night at around 11:26 pm, a large explosion occurred to the southwest of Dixie Inn, in Webster Parish, approximately 4 miles southwest of Minden, or 28 miles east of Shreveport … in the borders of the Camp Minden Army ammunition plant,” the weather service said.
The Associated Press reported that at least 10 explosions rocked the bomb recycling plant in northwestern Louisiana, forcing the evacuation of at least 600 students from two schools and more than 400 prisoners from the Webster Parish jail.
No serious injuries or deaths have been reported.
Explo Systems, which opened its site in January, has a military contract to disassemble bombs and recycle bomb components. Lt. Col. Carl Thompson, the camp's assistant commander, said he did not know how many workers were in the plant at the time.
He said the company employs about 60 people who work around the clock; all have been accounted for, he said.
The explosion was the second in recent weeks at Camp Minden, the former Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant that produced large-caliber ammunition for the military until it closed in 1994. Louisiana took the site over from the federal government last year and it is now occupied by several businesses. The Louisiana National Guard oversees the camp.
The National Weather Service captured images of the staggering explosion on its Doppler Radar system, explains a report posted online. “Based on radar analysis, the plume was initially as high as almost 7,200 feet above ground level.”
The agency said the radar imagery is similar to that usually seen with smoke plumes associated with wildfires.

This concludes my special report on the Explosion in Louisiana.  There are 16 one acre sites for hazardous watse storage at this location. A big explosion would hide any damning evidence (in my opinion).

You have some facts here to start your own journey to your own conclusions. It is not good things keep happening in Louisiana. Please get out of there.
