Tribute to the Heroes of the BP OIL BLOWOUT (The Men who Died Photo Blog)

Hi Everybody:

It does not appear this great sadness will ever end. Everyday situations get worse in the Gulf of Mexico. The most awful TERRORIST ATTACK against the World was committed by BP Oil Company in the Gulf of Mexico in April, 2010. It is the source (cause) of all the effects we are seeing now in the Gulf. We are breathing something worse than mustard gas and it is happening in all Gulf States.  We are coughing and sick in the lungs. Where are the gas masks????????????????????????
Whether it was an accident or intentional does not matter, the result is the same.  It is a Criminal Act and these people have not been arrested. The rich oil men keep on getting richer by continuing to exploit the ground under Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Mexico.
The people that live here are now paying the ultimate price by loosing their homes, health and life. It is projected 10 million of us will die as the events reach the projected maximum.

I hope everyone who plans to vote in the election remembers all in office the last 2 years and votes everyone of them OUT. We certainly do not see them down here in the South.
Hello up there, White House: Do You see the toxic time bomb we are sitting on? It appears Your intent is not to help us until we are dead. You did not help the others who have already died. You did not arrest the BP Terrorists.

We must forgive all these people involved in this crime against us. They are only human and do not know what they have done to themselves. They will be judged in time and it will be severe. BPs top execs were so focused on cutting corners, prices and safety. They were advised Not to drill where they did, but refused to listen. They could not have known the devastating effects that were coming due to their very major Screw Up at the top. It was the top that made all the critical decisions, not the workers who died. Unfortunately, it did not stop at that point. The cover up and lies began and continue to this day. Here are the headlines on subject for today:

US Congressman: We can only hope BP’s nightmare well in Gulf has not come back to life — No room for obfuscation, ‘Spillcam’ must return

Title: Markey Calls for Full Undersea Survey Following Gulf Oil Sheen Sourced from BP’s Macondo Well
Source: Congressman Ed Markey (D-Mass.)
Date: October 11, 2012
Congressman Asks for Spillcam Return for Survey
Following confirmation that an oil sheen in the Gulf of Mexico has origins from BP’s blown-out Macondo well, Rep. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) today called for a full undersea survey of the Macondo site carried live on the internet so independent scientists can examine the activities as they happen.
“One can only hope that the nightmare well has not come back to haunt the people of the Gulf. The federal government should order BP to immediately deploy undersea rovers to examine the well site, the wreckage of the sunken rig, the drill pipe, and the surrounding area,” said Rep. Markey, the top Democrat on the Natural Resources Committee, who was the leading investigative force into the BP disaster in 2010. “BP must also bring back the Spillcam, so the world can see in real time what is going on at the bottom of the Gulf. There is no room for error, and no room for obfuscation, when it comes to this matter.”
[...]
“BP must do everything in its power to ensure this well does not rupture or leak, and they should be held responsible if it does. BP still has billions to pay to the people of the Gulf and the U.S. government, but the Gulf region also deserves the peace of mind that this well is dead once and for all,” said Rep. Markey.

The real blow out well has never been and never will be capped. The highly toxic oil and methane have been coming out for 2 1/2 years. I hope they get our Navy to verify the situation, Not B P.
There is no drilling pipe, no BOP, nothing but the puncture hole. The well blew out. The spillcam was not the right hole. You would think at least Congress should be informed. Do your homework.

Tonight, I want to spin this situation from a different point of view. We must hold on to our Human Values. Your video lineup will begin with this Human Side-The Rescue Workers who tried to get to the rig workers to save them. Eleven men died, but over 10. We will look at these Heroes and their Memorial Song.

There are other Heroes who tried to warn us what BP was doing. They died trying to help us. I bring you the video titled: BP lying through its teeth by Matt Simmons, who died 6 weeks after this interview. I encourage all of You to listen to Mr. Simmons. He was an Expert and He knows what happened and tells us the truth. Then he died.
How many more have to die before the World knows the truth?
Enough is Enough.
BP management needs to go to Prison. They killed our fellow Americans. They killed our Gulf and our seafood. They killed our birds. Now the are killing all of us on the Gulf Coast. Louisiana is the first to go. They took our oil out from underneath us and made Billions of Dollars. And still, the LIES. Wake Up World.

Deepwater Horizon oil spill

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill (also referred to as the BP oil spill, the BP oil disaster, the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and the Macondo blowout)[5][6] is an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico which flowed unabated for three months in 2010, and may be continuing to seep.[7][8] It is the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry.[9][10][11] The spill stemmed from a sea-floor oil gusher that resulted from the 20 April 2010 explosion of Deepwater Horizon, which drilled on the BP-operated Macondo Prospect. The explosion killed 11 men working on the platform and injured 17 others.[12] On 15 July 2010, the gushing wellhead was capped,[13] after it had released about 4.9 million barrels (780,000 m3) of crude oil.[3] An estimated 53,000 barrels per day (8,400 m3/d) escaped from the well just before it was capped.[11] It is believed that the daily flow rate diminished over time, starting at about 62,000 barrels per day (9,900 m3/d) and decreasing as the reservoir of hydrocarbons feeding the gusher was gradually depleted.[11] On 19 September 2010, the relief well process was successfully completed, and the federal government declared the well "effectively dead".[14] In August 2011, oil and oil sheen covering several square miles of water were reported surfacing not far from BP’s Macondo well.[15] Scientific analysis confirmed the oil is a chemical match for Macondo 252.[16][17]The Coast Guard said the oil was too dispersed to recover.[18] In March 2012, a "persistent oil seep"[19] near the Macondo 252 well was reported.[7]
The spill caused extensive damage to marine and wildlife habitats and to the Gulf's fishingand tourism industries.[20][21] Skimmer ships, floating containment booms, anchored barriers, sand-filled barricades along shorelines, and dispersants were used in an attempt to protect hundreds of miles of beaches, wetlands, and estuaries from the spreading oil. Scientists also reported immense underwater plumes of dissolved oil not visible at the surface[22] as well as an 80-square-mile (210 km²) "kill zone" surrounding the blown well.[23] In late November 2010, 4,200 square miles (11,000 km²) of the Gulf were re-closed to shrimping after tar balls were found in shrimpers' nets.[24] The amount of Louisiana shoreline affected by oil grew from 287 miles (462 km) in July to 320 miles (510 km) in late November 2010.[25] In January 2011, an oil spill commissioner reported that tar balls continue to wash up, oil sheen trails are seen in the wake of fishing boats, wetlands marsh grass remains fouled and dying, and crude oil lies offshore in deep water and in fine silts and sands onshore.[26] A research team found oil on the bottom of the seafloor in late February 2011 that did not seem to be degrading.[27] On 26 May 2011, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality extended the state of emergency related to the oil spill.[28] By 9 July 2011, roughly 491 miles (790 kilometers) of coastline in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida remained contaminated by BP oil, according to a NOAA spokesperson.[29] In October 2011, a NOAA report stated that dolphins and whales continue to die at twice the normal rate.[30] In April 2012, scientists reported finding alarming numbers of mutated crab, shrimp and fish they believe to be the result of chemicals released during the oil spill.[31] Tar balls continue to wash up along the Gulf coast two years after the spill began. [32] In April 2012, oil was found dotting 200 miles of Louisiana's coast.[33]
In January 2011 the White House oil spill commission released its final report on the causes of the oil spill. They blamed BP and its partners for making a series of cost-cutting decisions and the lack of a system to ensure well safety. They also concluded that the spill was not an isolated incident caused by "rogue industry or government officials", but that "The root causes are systemic and, absent significant reform in both industry practices and government policies, might well recur".[34] After its own internal probe, BP admitted that it made mistakes which led to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.[35] In June 2010 BP set up a $20 billion fund to compensate victims of the oil spill. To July 2011, the fund has paid $4.7 billion to 198,475 claimants. In all, the fund has nearly 1 million claims and continues to receive thousands of claims each week.[36]
In September 2011, the U.S. government published its final investigative report on the accident.[37] In essence, that report states that the main cause was the defective cement job, and put most of the fault for the oil spill with BP, also faulting Deepwater Horizon operatorTransocean and contractor Halliburton.[38][39] Investigations continue, with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder stating on April 24, 2012, "The Deepwater Horizon Task Force is continuing its investigation into the explosion and will hold accountable those who violated the law in connection with the largest environmental disaster in US history". The first arrest related to the spill was in April 2012; an engineer was charged with obstruction of justice for allegedly deleting 300 text messages showing BP knew the flow rate was three times higher than initial claims by the company, and knew that Top Kill was unlikely to succeed, but claimed otherwise.[40][41][42] On October 10, 2012, the United States Coast Guard confirmed that samples taken from a new oil sheen at the site of the Deepwater Horizon was in fact from the Deepwater Horizon.[43]

Prelude to LA SINKHOLE?

Matt Simmons 6 wks before death:

 "BP lying through its teeth"...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PW7fMPGDZio
Published on Oct 7, 2012 by
Matthew Roy Simmons (April 7, 1943-- August 8, 2010) was a famous oil exec who became a BP whistleblower in the weeks before his strange death. Much of what he stated about the disaster was later proven true. He advocated for a complete evacuation of the Gulf of Mexico states, respirators to be supplied to all 20+ million people living on the Gulf (because of fumes from toxic crude, not corexit, which according to him is "worse than mustard gas"), and he believed the real source of the oil was coming from a giant blow-out 10 miles away from the well B site. He also stated (although not in this interview but one closer to his death) that relief wells would never be able to cope with the enormous pressures coming out of the seafloor. He stated the video of the underwater "source" of the leak couldnt possibly contribute to the amount of oil seen in the Gulf. Mr. Simmons was founder and chairman emeritus of Simmons & Company International, and was a prominent figure in the field of peak oil. Simmons was motivated by the 1973 energy crisis to create an investment banking firm catering to oil companies. In his previous capacity, he served as energy adviser to U.S. President George W. Bush. He was, up until his death, a member of the National Petroleum Council and the Council on Foreign Relations.

Simmons, who lived in Houston, Texas, died at his vacation home in North Haven, Maine, on August 8, 2010, at the age of 67. He was found in his outdoor hot tub, on a night when temps had dropped from 90 to 40 F and some local areas had over 4 inches of rain...hot tub weather?? The cause of death was ruled "accidental drowning with heart disease a contributing factor". Simmons was the author of the book "Twilight in the Desert: The Coming Saudi Oil Shock and the World Economy", published in 2005. His examination of oil reserve decline rates helped raise awareness of the unreliability of Middle East oil reserves. He gave numerous presentations on Peak Oil and water shortages. Simmons believed that the Club of Rome predictions are more accurate than usually acknowledged. Simmons was the founder of the Ocean Energy Institute in Maine. His vision was to make Maine a leader in energy from offshore wind and ocean forces.

In this interview from June 28th 2010, 6 weeks before his death, he spoke with Rick Wiles of TruNews stating that "BP was lying through its teeth" and addressed the numerous reasons for his concern.

Personal communications and emails from a man who worked with Simmons (which I have verified) stated he was going public with the possibility of future ground gas pressures that would expand at supersonic speed (think booms underground) through the oil rivers and aquifers (which are all connected) and cause fault instability and other geological problems. These problems would occur at great distances from the Mercondo well. Which may be exactly what we are seeing happen now with the Louisiana sinkhole and saltdome problems, as well as sinkhole reports from all over the Gulf coast states from Texas (and Mexico) up through the St Lawrence and Quebec/Ontario.

Simmons believed that the Club of Rome predictions are more accurate than usually acknowledged.[9]
Simmons was the founder of the Ocean Energy Institute in Maine. His vision was to make Maine a leader in energy from offshore wind and ocean forces.

Saudi Arabian oil reserves

In his book, Simmons argues that production from Saudi Arabia and especially from Ghawar—the world's largest oil field—will peak in the near future, if it has not done so already. Simmons bases his case on hundreds of internal documents from Saudi Aramco, professional journals and other authoritative sources.

[edit]Oil price wager

In August 2005, Simmons bet John Tierney and Rita Simon, the widow of Julian Simon, $2500 each that the price of oil averaged over the entire calendar year of 2010 would be at least $200 per barrel (in 2005 dollars).[10] Simmons would have lost this bet by a very wide margin: 2010 average oil prices did not even reach $100. A factor in this, however, was that the world-wide economic collapse createddemand destruction that greatly decreased the demand for oil causing prices to fall. The decline in price is evidence supporting some critics who contend that Simmons' theories did not take adequate account of economic effects on the oil supply. However, his theories about the difficulties in increasing (or maintaining) production levels have not yet been disproved.[citation needed]

[edit]Ocean Energy Institute

The Institute researches and develops energy sources from the oceans such as wind energy and tidal energy.

[edit]Appearances and interviews

Simmons made contributions to the films Peak Oil – Imposed by NatureThe Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil(2006), The End of SuburbiaCrude Impact, and Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash, and appeared on World Energy Television World Energy Video Interview, August 2008

[edit]Deepwater Horizon oil spill conjectures

Simmons made several controversial comments and predictions regarding the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and BP's solvency, including:
  • During a June 9, 2010, interview with Fortune,[12] Simmons claimed that BP would "have about a month before they claim Chapter 11". The comment initially contributed to a precipitous drop in BP's market capitalization. However, subsequent events, including BP's establishment of a $20 billion claim fund, have shown Simmons' claim to be highly unlikely, and BP's stock price has begun to recover.
  • On June 9, 2010, Simmons was interviewed by Barron's journalist Tieman Ray. Simmons disclosed that he personally held an 8,000 share short position in BP stock. As BP's stock price went lower, Simmons was benefitting financially amid fears of bankruptcy.[13]
  • During a July 7, 2010, interview on CNBC[14] (which was around the date Simmons originally predicted BP would be filing for bankruptcy), Simmons claimed that scientists were reporting the flow rate from the oil spill was "spewing 120,000 barrels a day into the Gulf" and that there have been estimates that we have "lost oxygen for 40% of the Gulf of Mexico". He further claimed that the relief wells will not stop the oil spill.
  • A week later, during a July 15, 2010 interview with KPFK – Pacifica Los Angeles,[15] Simmons asserted that the relief wells and the capping process on the Macondo wellhead are publicity stunts and that the real vent is up to ten miles (16 km) away. He said that an enormous pool of crude is accumulating below the sea floor, releasing poisonous gases and waiting to be whipped up by a hurricane.
  • Also, previously, on May 26, 2010, Matthew Simmons was a guest on 'The Dylan Ratigan Show' on MSNBC, where he explained his reasons for believing that the Deepwater Horizon oil spill involved not only the leak being monitored by BP's video-camera-equipped ROVs [remotely operated vehicles], but another, much bigger leak, several miles away.

[edit]Wikileaks Cable Mention

The Guardian reported that Simmons was mentioned in a leaked U.S State Department cable dated November 2007:
COMMENT: While al-Husseini believes that Saudi officials overstate capabilities in the interest of spurring foreign investment, he is also critical of international expectations. He stated that the IEA's expectation that Saudi Arabia and the Middle East will lead the market in reaching global output levels of over 100 million barrels/day is unrealistic, and it is incumbent upon political leaders to begin understanding and preparing for this "inconvenient truth." Al-Husseini was clear to add that he does not view himself as part of the "peak oil camp," and does not agree with analysts such as Matthew Simmons. He considers himself optimistic about the future of energy, but pragmatic with regards to what resources are available and what level of production is possible. While he fundamentally contradicts the Aramco company line, al-Husseini is no doomsday theorist. His pedigree, experience and outlook demand that his predictions be thoughtfully considered.[16]

[edit]Death

Simmons was found dead on August 8, 2010, in his hot tub.[17] An autopsy by the state medical examiner’s office the next day concluded that he died from accidental drowning with heart disease as a contributing factor.[18] Many conspiracy theorists believe Simmons was killed for his views on the "cover up" concerning both B.P.s' and the U.S.A's deception about the Gulf oil spill, claiming it had never really been cleaned up nor the leak ever stopped
