Bye Bye Buzzards of Winter & Hello Spring

Hi Everybody!  Come on in for your short Nature Break!

Welcome to all new people joining our little mini Nature Class.
Huge Thank You to all who are providing great feedback,  wonderful compliments, and following the blog so I can see you! I am happy to be connecting with you Nature Lovers all around the World.

When I started this Bird Sanctuary, I had no birds here except what flew over in the sky. I knew a few birds, but not many. Mom loved her hummingbirds, but I never felt ecstatic over them as she did back then. I just figured she was a Nut! She would cry when the hummers left for the winter, to which I just said: "Good Grief, Give me a Break from this madness"!! I imagine she is laughing at me today as I am a little teary over my Buzzards. In fact, the whole world thinks I am a Nut for loving my Buzzards. There is something very special about the birds coming to eat, play and nest here. Yet, it is even more special when they come back the next year, and the next..... You get to know who they are and their daily habits. I know, big Dad the cardinal, is going to start singing at daybreak outside the window-he does it every day. I have become very close to the birds here, yet I have never touched one. We have respect for each other and admiration from a distance.

Your photostudy tonight is of a couple of my buzzards. They have already left the tall pine tree roost and moved on. But on this day of January 29, a few came over in the morning to sit in the morning tree. I grabbed my coffee and went out to hangout with them. I saw the one on top was King Buzz.  We sat together for awhile waiting for the sun to rise enough to warm us. What happened next was incredible to me. King Buzz began displaying his wings for me. Back and forth he went for awhile. I want you to notice how he establishes eye contact with me. Can You see that this bird is communicating something to me or am I really nuts??  Just so you know, these birds do not do this behavior in front of humans as they do not usually go around humans. If a human gets close to them, they fly off. Yet here is this bird looking at me and communicating something to me.  They have not been back since then, 5 days ago. I feel he came to say Good bye and then he left.
I know now how Mom felt when her birds left for the migration.

Goodbye King Buzz

A Bonus photostudy tonight to give my photofriends a taste of Spring!!! The Peach Blossoms & the Tiger Butterfly at Kates Cabin Bird Sanctuary in Texas.  Enjoy!

Goodbye to my King Buzz and his Gang!

Rambo Comes Home for Spring! (A Birding Photo Blog)

Hi Everybody!
Please come in for a short Nature Break to see Rambo, my red-shouldered hawk. She has just returned for Spring Mating and Nesting!  Her boyfriend is here. They have already mated 2 times that I have heard, but could not see in the trees.  Your photostudy today is of Rambo. She flew from the mating tree to this tree top pictured below. Spring is in the Air in Texas today!

Greetings to All from Rainbow Creek!

I hope you enjoyed Rambo.  When I find where she is building the nest, I will have more photos!

I have now opened accounts on facebook, twitter, my space and linkedin--so if you are any of those social places--connect with me as I am new to all of this!!!!!

I am looking to connect with Nature Lovers and Artists around the World to network ideas to make our Earth better than what we have done to it!

Rocket Ride On U F O and Farewell to King Buzz (Nature Photo Blog)

Hi Everybody!!
Please come in for my little photo tour!  We will start with one of my U F O's that seem to fly over my cabin in the woods all the time! This one went out of sight behind the tall pine trees that are home to the Buzzards in the winter. Space is really interesting and allows us time to gaze into sky and wonder what is out there. I love space.com and suggest you visit the site. There was a huge solar eruption on January 16, 2011. You can see it on the video!  http://www.space.com/14267-venus-cloud-tops-brace-sun-floral-flare.html.

Where does everything and everyone go? The Solar Flare Energy goes somewhere. The U F O's go somewhere. All people that die go somewhere. The Buzzards that were in the tall pine trees 2 days ago went somewhere. To me, all life in Nature seems to be a circle of comings and goings, not a flat, straight  timeline. The older you get, the more you find you do not know!

Starting with the Buzzards, I can say they have migrated. I know this only because they do it every year and have been since I have been out here 20 years.  I do not know where they go. It is sad to me when they leave as they are such a joy to watch when they are here. The tall pine trees look and sound so empty. They left two days ago. Now here comes Rambo, my red shouldered hawk, who came home to her nesting tree yesterday. It is her turn to be here now for mating and raising the chicks. Everything in Nature happens exactly when it should. When Rambo leaves, the hummingbirds come back. There is a rhythm here at Kates Cabin Bird Sanctuary. There is a rhythm everywhere.

As far as the people, I can say I believe they migrate somewhere also after death.  Before we arrive on Earth and breathe air, we exist in another state where we live in fluid. We completely change our environment when we drop out of the fluid onto the earth and breathe air. I feel when we stop breathing air on earth that we likewise completely change our environment again to another state without a body. Of course, nobody really knows. What do You think? Does everybody wonder where we go?

No one knows where the U F O's go or for that matter, where they came from. Some believe they exist and some do not. As for solar flares and sun storms, they go in the direction pointed. Some believe a large solar event could be pointed at earth one day. Some that study this possibility suggest a big solar flare pointed at earth would knock out electricity immediately for Years, not hours.  No phones, no computers, no travel, no stores, no supplies, no communication. What would You do?  I welcome your comments and discussion!

Now on to your photostudy. Tonight we are having U F O disappearing behind the pines and memories of buzzards that disappeared behind the pines also!  Enjoy!

Now I must go somewhere!
Thanks to All The New Friends Coming to Visit!
