Texas Flood, Texas Blues and a Texas King (Flood Water Photo Blog)

Welcome to Rainbow Creek!

Hi Everybody!  This past weekend, we had 3 days of rain yielding 5 inches of rain at Kates Cabin in N. Waller County, Texas. Rainbow Creek usually has water year round. Texas is known for its flash floods. Enough rain and many dry creeks are quickly swollen to overflowing. Rainbow Creek and Bonnie Lake are in the Waller Gladys watershed.

After 3 days, the rain ended. My dog, the little King, came with me to the end of Rainbow Creek into Bonnie Lake at the Park down the road. We wanted to check out the rushing water over the spillway. We got there under dark cloud cover and saw the clouds part and the blue sky take over once again.
The little King announced he wanted to be the Star of the Blog today and give the guided tour of the flood waters at the spillway.

Presenting for your pleasure, the little King of Texas:

I have made a little slide show of the flood waters and you will see the dark clouds exit and the Sunshine arrive!

Tonight the soundtrack for the slideshow is Texas Flood by Stevie Ray Vaughn, a legend in Texas Blues. One of the best all time guitarist in the World, Stevie Ray is my favorite guitar man! He was a part of the Austin Music Scene, where I spent alot of time in the younger days. He could outplay anyone!

So sit back and enjoy the flood waters and the blues of Stevie Ray.
Just push play!

Yes, our "Star" Tour Guide fell in the water!!!!!

If you enjoyed Stevie Ray and his Texas Blues/Rock, I have included some links that tell more about him and his place in History. One site has more music and memories of Stevie. He died at age 35. His music lives on!

Your Bonus tonight is a wonderful jam with Stevie and his baddies, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and Jimmy Vaughn with Double Trouble.  Enjoy!
